I speak Spanish and English too

Champ is so caught up in Dora that he is actually learning something from her. He opened one of his 10 Dora books last night. Dora is always on the first page waiting to say hello. Champ opens the book and waves. "Hola Dora, hola, hola" His voice is so tender and sweet. I wish it would stay that little forever. He keeps growing and growing. While reading the book I thought I would see what numbers he knows in Spanish. I counted uno, dos and then paused. He says, "tres, cuatro, CINCO!!" His enthusiasm for learning is similar to Faith's. He'll sit and listen to Faith's chapter book for two chapter while holding his Dora book. He waits without complaint knowing that his book is next. I can't leave storytime without reading his last book of Dora. He knows all the characters who are friends with Dora too. Storytime is paying off. He has a large vocabulary. Champ and Faith have a fun song that they sing together. Faith waits for him to echo her while singing a song about being quiet she learned from Dora. We sing that all the time. It is my hope that one day each of my children will enjoy another language. Until then, I'm going to let Faith do the teaching to her brother as a way to reiterate what she is learning.
